12 Questions to Ask Before You Buy Roofing Appointments
"Appointments" means different things to different sellers. These questions get you clear answers.
About the appointment
1. Is it an in-person inspection at the property?
Some sellers count a phone call as an appointment.
2. What exactly is checked before booking?
Look for three things: owns the home, address in your area, will be home.
3. Who does the checking, and how?
A person, a bot, or a form? Ask to see an example conversation.
4. Does the homeowner know your company's name before you arrive?
They should. A surprised homeowner does not open the door.
About the money
5. What do I pay, and when?
At booking, after the visit, or monthly?
6. Who pays for the advertising?
If you do, add it to the price.
7. Are there setup fees, minimums or a retainer?
Ask for every cost on one page.
8. What happens on a no-show or a bad appointment?
Credits, refunds or nothing? What proof do you need, and how fast?
About the relationship
9. Is each homeowner sent only to me?
Get it in the agreement.
10. How many roofers do you serve in my area?
11. How do I control volume?
You should be able to slow down when crews are full.
12. How do I cancel?
Short notice and no penalty is the fair answer.
